Composite Decking
Composite decking is a very popular method and material used for creating stunning outdoor spaces and structured home gardens. With decking in general, it is often used to recreate the looks of home gardens and outdoor spaces whilst achieving a stylish and well thought out area for many to enjoy. With many different methods and materials on the market when it comes down to decking, it is important that you choose the right one for you and your home. Composite decking for example is a material which has many brilliant qualities whilst still being a wood decking alternative which is longer-lasting, better looking in the long term as well as being easier to maintain. Composite is a man-made material which is made up of around half recycled plastics and half recycled real wood fibres, this makes it look a lot like wood, but having properties which makes it better in many applications.
Other materials that can be used for decking include wood and aluminium – two very different products with different properties and finishes. With wooden decking, although it is seen as one of the best materials to use for decking due to its overall authenticity (as many like to incorporate this wooden look into their homes), it also has cons which make it not worth the hassle for some. These cons include things such as the tendency which it has to rot, change colour, warp, crack and stain over time. In addition to this it can be extremely expensive dependant on the type of wood which you are looking for (many choose this dependant on the finishes which the wood has).
Aluminium decking is another method which can be used to transform your gardens and create stunning decking’s however, this highly appreciated and popular “wooden-look” cannot be created using this material. The reason for this is because the material is unable to transform and have this wooden look whereas composite can – aluminium is also highly expensive and many don’t see the point in paying so much money for a finishing look which was not initially desired.
So, with these alternative materials to the composite decking, the overall results you will get for your home garden are dependent on the material which you choose to use. With wood compared to the composite, as mentioned before composite can be made to look however you want it- this means that if the finishing touches you want are for it to have a more rarely looking wood texture – you can have it. However, with the wood decking, if you were desperately wanting these more tropical wooden textures, you would have to be prepared to pay a lot more due to the rarity of certain woods and where you are able to find them. With aluminium compared to composite however, there are lots of positives to using aluminium but with it being so expensive and not being able to create these wooden textures unlike the composite decking, it makes it become a material which many don’t like to use on their decking.
Overall with composite decking being so useful and having many qualities and features such as their beautiful aesthetics, easy maintenance and long lasting as well as durable effects, it makes composite one of the most popular decking materials on the market.
